We are devoted to evidence-based practice, promoting resources for clinicians eager to grow and develop their skills, and challenging the status quo in order to provide the best patient care in our own unique settings. AINSLEY MARTIN, MS, CCC-SLP, DCS

Chief Editor, Founder of the SLPR, Contributing Author

Ainsley Martin, MS, CCC-SLP graduated from Syracuse University in 2015 and has primarily practiced in skilled nursing facilities. Her clinical interests include dysphagia management, medical bioethics, leadership/mentorship, and program development to increase the influence of SLPs in skilled nursing to maximize therapeutic benefit for patients.  Ainsley has been a guest speaker at Syracuse University, a presenter at the Alzheimer’s caregiver support group at Brookdale Fayetteville, and has been invited to provide nurse training re: development of oral care programs. She is a member of the National Foundation of Swallowing Disorders (NFOSD), Dysphagia Research Society (DRS), New York State Speech-Language and Hearing Association, Central New York Speech-Language Hearing Association, and the Central New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Ainsley is also a 5 time ASHA ACE awardee, certified in MDTP and myofascial release, and a resource contributor for the Med SLP Collective. Interests outside of SLP include spending time with family, swimming, reading, chess, yoga, and belly dance.

HEATHER BOLAN, MA, CCC-SLP

Heather Bolan M.A., CCC-SLP graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2015 and has primarily practiced in acute care, NICU, and Oncology. Her clinical interests include acute dysphagia management, neonatal feeding disorders, and oncological prophylactic/rehabilitative intervention for head, neck, and esophageal cancer. Heather serves as the VP of Publications and Communications for ISHA, is a moderator for the Indiana SLP Network Facebook Group, and has been a speaker at national and state conventions. She is a certified MDTP, MBSImP, Myofascial Release, and Trismus provider, graduate of the NANT IGNITE program, and an ASHA ACE Awardee. Outside of being a SLP Heather enjoys weightlifting, yoga, hiking, and hanging out at the local microbrewery.

MICHELLE COFFARO, MS, CCC-SLP

Website Management, Contributing Author

Michelle Coffaro M.S., CCC-SLP, graduated from Syracuse University in 2013. She is the founder of Midwest Speech Therapy (MST) and Tri-State Imaging & Swallowing Solutions (TISS) located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Michelle started MST, a private practice, in early 2017 treating pediatrics-geriatrics with a wide range of diagnoses. Her passion for feeding and swallowing and providing proper treatment, have led her to complete FEES training through SASS Swallowing Services, become an ASHA ACE awardee, a member of ASHA's SIG 13 and Ohio Speech Language Hearing Association (OSLHA), and a certified provider of the McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program. Furthering her passion, she started TISS, a mobile FEES company, in 2018 to fill a need for increased access to instrumental swallow assessments. Outside of being an SLP Michelle enjoys traveling, photography, and spending time with family and friends.

MIKI DIANE SHIBATA, MS, CCC-SLP

SLPR Podcast, Contributing Author

Miki Shibata is a SLP with experience working in Short Term Acute Rehabilitation, Inpatient Rehabilitation, and Acute Care with the adult population. She also has a clinical interest in anything ICU and using technology in treatment. She also is a proud East-Coast Asian-American, and still works at her family's nail salon when she's goes back for the holidays. Hobbies include writing, photography, reading, listening to music, and deep discount shopping.
